    Long story made short...I fell

I had a bit of an accident while climbing at the Cleveland Rock Gym last Friday. I had just topped out on my route and began my rappel back down and my harness failed on me. I fell 25 feet and broke my back. I spent three days at the Cleveland Clinic with 3 fractured vertebrae, abdominal and...

    North Bay Predator Calls

I have a few of my newest predator calls made up, "DeepSix". I took the original out hunting once a couple of weeks ago and loved it. It's good for close range rodent squeaks, or squirrel barking. If you remove the bellows it's also good for some pup distress, bird distress and whatever other...

    blk. powder shotgun load

I can't help much with a recipe either, but I will certainly be watching intently. I'm still trying to conjure up a good turkey load for my smokepole this spring. I hope you find what you need.

Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I - (Video added)

Here's a link to a video of the Beretta below... https://youtu.be/owxpnhhqQH8 This gun has less than 150 rounds through it, great piece of wood on the stock too. I’ll bring it over to the Strongsville show if anybody wants to see it in person, or better yet buy it. Otherwise I can send...

New Orvis Flyrod & Reel (sold)

Time to let go I guess. I have a brand spanking new Orvis Trident TLS 9’ 6wt fly rod that has never seen water. It comes with an Orvis Battenkill IV reel, also never seen water and never had any line spooled on it. I bought this rig thinking of steelhead and maybe some bass or pike in the...

    Sinking decoy line...

I use the tarred line from Memphis Net and Twine as well. For single rigs, droppers and mainlines. The mainlines are a heavier line obviously. I lobe the stuff, it doesn't retain water at all and is easy to get untangled IF it does become tangled. Steve

One of them days, part two

Ya gotta love how those buffies save a hunt like that. I'd take limits on buffies versus no shooting all day. We've been down there and had that happen a number of times. Are you and Jon still down there hunting or heading home? Good luck to you guys and safe travels. How are the brant numbers...

    Breaking Him In...

Thanks Eric, Mark and Dave... Nope, I didn't leave him on the mountain Mark. Though, there was some talk of getting him to the top and making him find his own way back. He did great on the ascent and descent...minus the clumsiness on the snowshoes. He passed this test as well. Dave...if...

    Breaking Him In...

Okay, so maybe I was in reality trying to break him. The "him" in question is my oldest daughter's boyfriend Jimmy now turned Fiance officially on Christmas Eve. They both drove up from Florida for the holidays to visit, though Jimmy had other intentions in mind. It's a long (funny) story but...

    ADK rescue NDR

Much luckier than the woman attempting MacNaughton last winter. Lucky indeed...Glad to hear this one didn't end in tragedy like so many did this past year. 43 hours is a long spell on Algonquin in winter conditions. I've been up there twice in those conditions and it can get flat out nasty up...

    Boats, Guns, Decoys and Spouses

Great write up and advise there Rob. A lot of that hits home. Safes are great assets when one needs to hide some loot or "assets". Provided of course the spouse has no idea how to open said safe. Case in point...there are two guns in the safe my wife isn't really aware are new. I haven't...
