Hi Tom, Maybe post those pictures you plan to take of the boat up on here as well to give everybody a better idea of what your goals are. We're duck duck hunters, we need pictures man. Steve

    Hummingbird or Lowrance?

Great...Thanks for the info everybody. I'll do some more researching prior to making the purchase. I was eyeballing that new HB Helix 9, but I may look into two units and see if I can squeeze them into the helm. Jon...the Ford vs Chevy doesn't apply to me, I drive a RAM, and love it.

    Renaming Boats...Bad Mojo?

I suppose that would cover all the bases just in case. But If I'm not mistaken if the "ceremony" is conducted properly ALL traces of the old name should be gone. That includes in log books, pictures, name in marina records, mechanical records and anything else with that recorded name. I'd hate...

    Hummingbird or Lowrance?

I really need to update my fishfinder with a newer model this year. Heck, mine is still black and white with no chartplotter, GPS or anything. I want to get out further in the lake after walleye this season and need to relay back to the towing service where I am in coordinates for a safety...

    Renaming Boats...Bad Mojo?

Well, considering I never bothered naming my duckboat, much less changing the name on it, and it tried to dump me in the drink the first year I had it...I'm wondering how much it really matters? I'm not entirely superstitious, but when it comes to boats I do err on the side of caution. And...

    Renaming Boats...Bad Mojo?

I know it's bad luck to rename a fishing vessel, or any boat for that matter. But I really do hate the name of my fishing boat. There's already a charter boat captain in our waters that has two boats with the same name on them. I almost didn't buy my boat because of that fact. I'm seriously...

Looking for opinions...Acrylic custom duck calls

Thanks for the plug Connor. That call your dad has actually has a polycarb insert made by Echo Inserts. I no longer use those inserts unless somebody specifically request them, I'm making all of my own inserts now...no acrylic though...Sorry Stevey, I have no desire on my part to ever use...

NDR - Hay Set for Fox

Way to go John! I'll have to give that set a try for sure. And I agree 100% with the brand of traps. I've been switching all mine out for the MB's as well. I refuse to buy Dukes, Bridgers, or any other traps that have the pan stamped "Made in Taiwan" on them. It's bad enough half the clothes we...

NDR - Hay Set for Fox

Hey that's pretty cool John. Nice winter red! do you bed the traps at all or just set them on the hay and cover 'em up? I've never tried that set, it is obviously effective. Maybe I'll plan on that one for next season. Ya gotta love the Hawbaker book. I have a newer edition. What trapper...

    KY coyotes and cats...

Steve...heck, if I knew you were over there I would've tried to get together with ya one night. I'll shoot you a PM with specifics.

    KY coyotes and cats...

John...That's a tough one. I love seeing a big coyote bouncing around in my trap. But there's just something about being the prey then turning the tables on them at the last second. I like them both a lot, but I suppose it would depend on the location which one I would rather do. Around my...

    KY coyotes and cats...

That's interesting Carl. You're the second one that mentioned coming down to 'Bama to hunt. I used to know a few trappers that would make the trip down that way each season. It may be something to look into in the future. That could be some fun if the populations are that big. Thanks for the info.

    KY coyotes and cats...

Pretty much the same around here with the coyote seasons Al... 24/7/365. There area a few exceptions to that during big game and turkey season, but its typically open season on the year around. One of these days I'm going back to Arizona to hunt. I'd love to give it a go out there.

    KY coyotes and cats...

Bob...You bet, nothing better than seeing them come in from the bottom of a hollow, or come barreling in from the top of a ridge. I was testing a new open reed call while were there. It works, however the toneboard needs a bit more tweaking before I offer them for sale. I'd like to get that...

    KY coyotes and cats...

Tom...It was perfect hunting conditions while we were there, bluebird skies everyday. I was kind of concerned it may just be too nice, but the critters didn't seem to mind much.

    KY coyotes and cats...

Carl...The two laying on the ground are actually just average sized coyotes for that area. The one hanging was a good sized old girl though, especially for a female. The cat had a really nice spotted belly. One of these days I hope to call one of them in as well. That will require tweaking my...
