    Alumacraft "Ducker" square stern model??

I've seen them priced anywhere from 1000-1900. It could be a Lund Ducker as well... Pics will tell the tale.

    Wader suggestions

30's - I wear my base layer and some thin fleece pants or sweats 20's - I wear the same base layer with the Cabelas fleece wader pants that look like regular pants. They are pretty thick. Switched to breathables 4 years ago and never looked back.

    Wader suggestions

Try putting on a glob of petroleum jelly on before donning your waders. If you're feeling froggy, use Vicks.

Feeding dog before or after hunt?

Thanks Joe! That's some great info, especially the part about complex foods in the field.

Feeding dog before or after hunt?

I feed 3 cups daily, 1 in the morning and 2 at night. I generally feed 2.5 cups the night before we hunt. I've tried to feed a little meal before a hunt if there's a long gap between leaving and working time, like you mentioned. but my dog won't eat so I've quit trying. She'll generally sneak...

    Resurrecting an Early Pair

Those are awesome! Great feather layout, and they look to be hollowed pretty thin. I like the inlet bottom board too. Very well done, as usual :)

    Dog beds, crate cushions?

For bed - I use an old therapeutic foam mattress pad I cut to fit in a round Orvis cover. It's held up great for 6 years. For crate - I use the Mud River crate pad. 6 years old and going strong.

Like B.B. said: "The thrill is gone....."

McAlister was bought by Drake quite a few years ago and they discontinued the brand 2-3 seasons ago. To my knowledge, eBay or getting lucky in a dusty shop is the only place to get them now.

    Thoughts on Cork Goose Decoys

I have five cork Canada's that I hunt. Four L.L. Beans that are fairly light, given their size; of course they are BSC, without self righting keels... My fifth decoy is a tan cork by Pat Gregory. It's my favorite, but it'll never come on a walk-in hunt with me. Like anything it's a give/take...

    Decoy Killers...

Both decoys were harmed in the making of this photo. I'll never fix them, those steel 2's jog way too many good memories from last season. They are decoys, it happens... Now, if it happened by the same guy, regularly; he'd be fixing them, signing them, and returning them.

How many hunters is too many?

I've hunted with 4 guys before and if it's the right group it works. My preference is 3 total or less. Frankly, I kind of like hunting alone

Beans & Fronds - and a brief Hen Pintail Tutorial

Both the GWT & Pintail hens are stunners, even nicer in hand than on screen. My favorites are the BWT. Steve knocked them out of the park, his paint compliments their shape perfectly. I only hope I can get them wet this Teal season, which started yesterday. Normally I am out on opening...

    September - Workbench

Well, September is off to a strong start. Spencer - That's probably my favorite of all of your birds. Jode - That dead "mount" is awesome. I've seen a few of those and I don't think I'll be getting any more real mounts done.

Beans & Fronds - and a brief Hen Pintail Tutorial

Steve - I can't thank you enough for taking on that project, you've out done yourself, again. I will have the biggest "Sanford-ized" Bean rig in the Midwest, maybe the world :) Pat - I will sheepishly admit, those fronds are mine. They were carved after teal season in 2012, inspired by...
