From their Facebook page; URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HEVI-Shot At temperatures below freezing, our 12-gauge, 3-inch HEVI-Metal® and HEVI-Steel® shotshell wads may crack on ignition. This may cause a “squib load”, with an off sound and reduced power. While this squi...b load will not damage...

    Neoprene Dog Vest

Avery fits my dog the best out of the package so that's what she wears. I really liked the wide Velcro on the Cabelas vest but neither vest I got from them was cut to the sizes posted on their website.

If we keep getting frozen off the river.....

I think we set or tied a record last night... Lots of places are locked up that normally aren't iced up until after our season ends. Of course they'll open back up this weekend when it rains and hits 50.

    2 outta 3 ain't bad...

The ice didn't take long to form with this early cold. This was about 10 minutes after I'd cleared the hole for the second time. No ducks were harmed in the making of this photo.

    2 outta 3 ain't bad...

Thanks fellas Al - The prep for a hunt has become my favorite part, he picks out what gun I should shoot, as well as the decoys. The constant "Why's?" are welcome when they are about ducks, dogs, decoys, etc... :) I am really looking forward to getting him out with me. Carl - He was...

    2 outta 3 ain't bad...

I don't post here as often as I would like, but with a 4 year old and a 2 year old my life consists of many more "Off Topic" subjects/moments than "On Topic"... That said, today was a little different. About a month ago I was selected to attend a "reserve draw" at one of the few FWA's in...

Jeff - Keep us posted. I've always just cut pieces from a brass "dowel" but I swear if you look at my prop wrong they break. Changing a pin on the river in 0* weather sucks....

Let slip the dogs of war!

There is a place in central IN that trains VERY high end personal protection dogs as well as combat/police dogs. The level of execution that those dogs work inside is remarkable.

    Kansas Trip?

Sadly the "was" is very true. I have hunted around Beloit, SW of Belleville. Last year we found pheasants but not anywhere close to the numbers in the past. Some clubs/lodges were advertising that they were supplementing with pen birds... There were a ton of snows and some ducks around, but...
