Part of my problem is that it is hard for me to get excited about painting decoys I didn’t carve. The bodies are some Herters foam decoys I inherited that I burlapped. The heads I carved. But my heart is in diver decoys and they are all gunning decoys.

Typically, your barrel should like the 77 grain better than the 55 grain. My 223 is a 1:12 and won’t shoot anything over 60 grains very well.

Finished my first Cork Decoy today. Paint scheme heavily influenced by Steve Sanford’s paint charts. Heck who am I kidding. It wasn’t influenced, it was copied.

Thanks for confirming. I’ll probably unload the diver bodies. I do believe they are the Herters closeouts. They have an integrated keel.
