Custom Sneak Box - looking for input

I like it! That bow design, looks like it could handle a chop yet the hull would draft shallow. Add a manual on the fly jack plate and I bet she'd really run in skinny water.

    Model duck boat makers

I have a friend in Louisiana that made me this pirogue and paddle He builds model trawlers too. A scaled down duck boat shouldn't be a problem. Shoot me a private message if you want his contact information. .

    Refuge runner refurbish

A buddy gave me a tiny 79cc (3hp) Harbor Freight mud motor to try on my Refuge Runner. My boys had a long paddle in to hunt so I towed them out afterwards. For safety reasons I'm only sitting on the bowline to the pirogue should things have gotten squirrelly.

    Refuge runner refurbish

Absolutely deadly on ducks, but you're right about the weight! I have to drag mine over the side of my 2472 Sea Ark and each duck season it gets a bit heavier, probably why I use a pirogue more now. LOL

Brad Bortner is on the Duck Season Somewhere podcast and What I'm Listening To Today

Great stuff Brad! I know many folks are questioning AHM and wanting "change", whatever they think that may be. I hear of hunters wanting to reduce season length and limits in order to try to grow the population of ducks. One super wet Spring can explode the waterfowl population and most...

    Hatching now.....

Multiple hens will lay eggs in other Wood Ducks nests, sometimes other species will lay eggs in other Wood Duck nests. I have had 35-40 eggs in one nesting box, aka a "dump box". I used to think it was a bad thing due to poor nesting box placement but now I believe nature has a way of...

    Cool Wood Duck stuff

I stopped to see what was happening when I saw a pair of Woodies standing on top of one of my nesting boxes. Apparently a second hen was trying to take over incubation and a scuffle ensued. Here is a picture of the winner peeking out of the nesting box hole with the loser jumping. These...

    Game Farm Mallards/Duck DNA Results

Here is the largest contributor to release mallards here in SC. https://scwa.org/waterfowl/mallard-project/ Initially they defended this program saying their release birds don't migrate, our SCDNR required released mallards to be banded, then band recovery trickled in from Canada all the way...

    Wood Duck Box Work

Nature is tough on ducklings no doubt! Years ago I set a goal to help get a minimum of 400 ducklings to jump from my nesting boxes each Spring and hope for a 15-20% survival. That would "replace" the total average number of ducks I harvest annually. It's weird I know but it's something...
