    Herters 72 bodies

I bought these off of Jon Yenni’s widow to help her out but I’m not going to use them. 7 puddlers and 6 divers. Yes there are 8 and 7 pictured. But one of each of the types are messed up. So they are free. Weighted keeled. $10 apiece. Sold as a lot. So $130 Will trade for HD cork...

It’s worth noting and I appreciate the concern! I am still new to this, especially cork.

The picture angle is misleading. But I did make the slot deeper.

Roughed out a Canvasback today before the workshop got too hot. A lot more carving and sanding to do of course. The head shape isn’t quite there and I need to insert the tail before taking a rasp to it. I’m not sure why I don’t carve more Cans. They are my favorite duck, even though they...

Are there states that don’t allow spinning wing decoys?

    Wood for tails?

Thank you. I actually have the right material for once. I’m not hollowing decoys. I’m a boat hunter no problem with a few extra ounces.

    Wood for tails?

That is a great decoy. The tail support isn’t the problem. I’m using a wooden tail to get the length I want in the decoy as the cork is an inch short.

    Wood for tails?

I spent a little while laying out some of my precious remaining pieces of HD cork from a sheet I bought from the duck blind many years ago. I have a pattern for a canvasback that is too long for the blocks I have left (too narrow too but only by a little bit and can put it in a diet). That...

Close to finishing it. Between Steve Sanford’s paint charts and Pat Gregory’s carving and stippling methods I am really starting to enjoy this.

duckboats.net Might End Up An Endling

I would be very sad to see this forum fail. I was turned on to it by my late friend Jon Yenulonus. I have learned a lot here. I learned the Steve Sanford painting style. I learned many caring techniques. I have put some sponsorship dollars forward. I’ll put some more in if it helps keep...

I normally don’t carve this time of year but I can’t get it out of my system. I am slowly transitioning away from foam and burlap. I have made more decoys than I’ll ever use so I’m trying quality over quantity. Shown here is a blackjack that I took significant time to do the neck to body...
