    My Call Making Area

OMG I can't even imagine your shop. For goodness sakes make sure you can retire before all of this prep in the shop is for not! I'm turning 80 next week and my abilities to do most everything you are preparing for was never there. I'm a haywire fixit guy at the best. You folks amaze me...

Would you share a picture or two of your goose build without the canvas? I like the look of the head/neck area. I feel the one I've done is a little bulky. Mine was a removable head which I was playing with but again I like the look of yours much better than mine. Don't bother...looked back...

    First Decoy

My black cork diver rig made in the mid 80's is still in fine shape after being hunted every season until about 2015. Since then I've not been as active. Made with tail board inserts and bottom boards. Some examples.

    When did it start

Ah memories. I started carving as a Boy Scout around 1956-7 at an area Boy Scout camp. Whittled stuff as soon as I was old enough to carry a pocket knife and not lose it. I've always carried a pocket knife - still do - but at camp I was schooled in carving with this set. My first surviving...

    February workbench

Thanks to all. I see myself as an accomplished decoy maker with 200-300 ? done in the last 30-35 years. That said my artistic ability is somewhat lacking in the ability to make "premium" decoys .. in my eyes. I've always made solid decoys in BSC, tan cork or wood. My original decoys are still...

    February workbench

14 months to finish but I finally am done with this 1/2 size Canada (cork) urn to hold a favorite Lab for one of my sons. Its last retrieve was a Canada. Weighs 4+ lbs loaded so not a hunting decoy.

    O/T: Meme thread

I see that this started a month ago and has 18 reply's and couple thousand views. I think that speaks loudly to me. To be honest I only opened this because I saw Huntindave posted. Was curious to see what he posted. I used to be addicted to memes on a couple other sites but got burned out and...
