Lithium battery for my Alumacraft Ducker

Since we are talking about premium Millertech is king in my region. Nothing like pulling up to the factory for a consultation and seeing a horse and buggy line. But man they know their stuff.

Lithium battery for my Alumacraft Ducker

Wow what a great response! You might be on to something with the 50aH for my use. The boat is primarily a row boat and if I get stuck I just have to put the effort in. They are on sale right now as well. I wonder if they will work in the cold. I have the $1000 smart battery for my fishing...

Thanks Eric. I’m pretty sure I learned that here. Since I do internal weighted keels it was a lot of screw holes in the bottom of the decoy by the time I got done. Since shifting to cork this year I find the balance point to be more predictable, and I noticed that the all wood decoys my...

Lithium battery for my Alumacraft Ducker

I have a small trolling motor that I mount on my Ducker and want to get a small lightweight battery for it. I have a very expensive high quality 24 volt lithium battery in my fishing boat and it is great and lightweight. But I am wanting a small 12 volt for my ducker. It will get very little...

    August workbench.

No every part of decoy making is my favorite. I really find making the weighted keels tedious and put it off as long as I can. The weighted keel serves several purposes. It helps the decoy track in line in rough water and keeps it from flipping over. It makes the decoy self right when...

    Draw knife and spoke shave

I have thought about this. I have a hard time sharpening a pencil consistently. I use disposable blade on different knives regularly because of my ineptitude at sharpening items. It’s something to consider.

    Draw knife and spoke shave

I didn’t realize there were so many variations. What size and shape should I start with?

It will hunt. I’ll throw a keel on it and try again. I love the colors and head shape.

    Hoody body pattern

So unfortunately I can’t handle having a decoy I’m dissatisfied with. The back is too high. When I scaled it down I did not adjust the height of the body. Of course it would have worked fine but I decided to alter it with paint before I stripped it and reshaped it. My wife thinks I’m crazy...

    Hoody body pattern

Well it’s 95% done. Need to soften the lines a bit. I didn’t take the back down enough, but my wife suggested I add to the neck which made a pretty big difference. I am looking forward to another one. I’ll make the tail longer and back shorter.

Thanks. I was really pleasantly surprised how easy it was. I definitely used everyone’s advice here and then just went at it. Just can’t decide if it’s a hen or drake. What does everyone think? Maybe I’ll take a poll and let you all decide.
