    Spammers & Scammers

Posted a generator for sale on FBMP on Monday. A guy tried the old "I'll pay with a cashiers check, and pick up the item when the check clears" on me Tuesday. I responded with, I'll take cash, with a 10% reduction in price. Crickets as anticipated. Farewell, scammer. I like the missile idea for...

Moved A Little Dirt At My Shop

That would do nicely, but I think a duck should replace the rooster. And all red squirrels are the devil.

Moved A Little Dirt At My Shop

Looks like he did a good job. Not much worse than water problems, hope this resolves the issue. You need something to break up the roofline of your shop. Maybe one of your giant calls, or a DHBP logo windvane. :D

Off topic but encountered while fishing

Funny you mention bobcats. They were rare here in CT until perhaps 20 years ago, now they're everywhere. We have some around the house daily, hunting rabbits and chipmunks of which we have a bumper crop. I enjoy watching them. Even when I don't see them, I know they're around because the birds...

    New boat building experience

So ten days from my last update, I'm back to gluing hulls together. For the second time. As with most first time experiences, Murphy's Law is enforced with vigor. It turns out that mold release PVA does not entirely dissolve when scrubbed with soap and water and hosed down repeatedly as...

That's something I've never seen before. Of course, there are folks with Honey Badgers as house pets now, so nothing surprises anymore. There are a few otters here in CT, but northern Maine is loaded with them. I've heard them squeal many times. A spot I duck hunt is a stump forest, they climb...

    How Long Can It Go?

Weather can be frustrating. It never seems to do what we want and need. I can only offer the old New England adage...."If you don't like the weather, wait a minute". Rick mentioned a pump. Our clients regularly use trash pumps to dewater excavations and shunt water between ponds. While there...

    2025 Devlin Snow Goose Thread

Really nice work. You might sleeve the wires coming out of the PVC conduit over the battery with something to control chafing or they'll wear through.

    New boat building experience

Glad you like it. If I was making a bunch to sell, that's what I'd do. Or buy my own chopper gun. I'm finding that four is all (or more than) I can handle as a summer project. By the time all the interior fittings and dodgers are complete it'll be fall. I'll say that as I near the end of...

    New boat building experience

Slowly gaining on the goal of four fiberglass pond boxes. Four hulls are done, and three decks, with two complete boxes glued up (assembled). The third deck is curing right now, with luck the fourth deck will be done in a couple of days. One detail I've pondered since day one has been how to...

Cool to have an article published. Curious....whether for Mom or just as your own keepsakes, you couldn't get copies from the publisher?

Very similar to here. The kind of stuff I need (want :) ) is easily sourced in a day or two online, but it's a haul to handle most toys and gear before buying.
