Several months ago my child Bridget asked for and received a sewing machine , this got me thinking...
Two week?s ago my boat cover I use for trailering bit the dust, rather than going to Walmart for another one I decided that making my own would be fun! So after a quick lesson from Bridget I...
So I have an opportunity to trade my 2001 TDB 14SC for a 2002 DWrangler 17 with a 40 Yamaha 2 stoke on it. Will it be underpowered? What are common problem areas with these boats? Do they hunt well in marshes or are they too big?
I have rather a lot of foam Herters #72 decoys that I hunt. My question is, what is the best way to wrap the decoy line and weight when you are picking up?I've attached two pictures of what I?m doing now, but I?m not really happy with either. I usually run 12-15 feet of line as the late season...
As part of a lot of older decoys I bought recently there are a pair of what I think are older Herters canvasbacks. I?m not very familiar with their flat bottom foamers, but they just don?t feel like Herters to me. The foam itself feels much denser for one thing and the tail doesn?t look quite...
I purchased a bunch of old(er) decoys today, it?s a mix of cork, cork on wood, and all wooden decoys. I?m certain I got a good deal on these, seller set the price, but I don?t actually know anything about them. Maybe you guys could help me with some details as to origin and likely value? I?ll...
Did Herters make a feeder head for their model 81 (smaller size) goose decoys? I have two of those heads for my model 92s and really like the look of them.
Second question, does anyone have any of either size that they?d be willing to part with?
I have several plastic Herters heads that have the old rusty bolts stuck in them. Any ideas on how to remove the old stubs without damaging them? I have limited tools. Any help will be appreciated
What a ball I had hunting with my son Henry! This was his first season actually hunting or even shooting, and we did very well out of the TDB I bought this summer.
I decided to start him out with a shooting lesson at Orvis Sandanonah and followed that up with another morning at a sporting...
Your website and the paint tutorials on it are simply great! My son and I have been using your paint schemes, to the best of my abilities, for the last two years and they are an invaluable resource. We?ve done just about everything puddlers, divers, and seaducks.
I recommend it to anyone I...
I think this is a pretty neat story that may bring more attention to waterfowl and conservation.

In very nice shape, no holes or cracks all stems intact. Most are in original paint, goldeneye, a few canvasback and scaup ( I think they?re scaup). 18 total

Approximately 14? home made, I believe, asking $300 located in Brookfield, Ct. delivery available within a hour or so distance. Plywood hull and wood frame appears solid, stayed reasonably dry last time I hunted it. Ask any questions you like.

I just got a bunch of their wooden replacement heads that I ordered. I?m curious to know how they hold up long term? Will the paint stay nice if I take adaquate care of the or should I coat them with something?
I also need to drill holes in them to attach them, I?m guessing a drill press...
So, per my previous post I have gone through my old cork decoys that I bought last year and will attempt to fix them up. One has made the ultimate sacrifice and is becoming filler dust for the others. So far I?ve removed the heads of several, gotten the worst of the crumbling bits out, sealed...
Can the decoys pictured be made hunt ready again? I have 6-8 of these I picked up last year as part of a second hand lot. I don?t haven?t a clue how to proceed. Any help would be helpful.
