    Wing bones…

I'm no expert, but this works for me. Just cut the knobby ends off the bones and trim a little so they fit together nice. Each bird will be a little different depending on size. I've seen some guys go shorter/stubbier. I guess it is a matter of personal preference really. Hope this helps.

20" or 15" transom on Duck Boss 13?

I think he is referring to the hard cover... which it doesn't look like 4Rivers offers anymore. One of the best add-on's I purchased (since I store my boat outside under some trees... also keeps the snow out). Although it's not on the website, I'd ask if they make one... it's worth it. In the...

    duck invader / boss 13

I bought mine in 2020 (so it's technically the Duck Invader). In 2023 I switched from natural grass to using grass matts for the flappers and the deck. Collected grass from where I hunt for the grass rails. Motor cover from bags by Diane (I see another post on here that she may reopen the shop...

Older Dave Clark Estuary - Paint Removal Help

Ahhhhh. I didn't see that on the FB page screen grab, my bad. Looks like someone needs to correct their page. All these different URL domains and ways of putting together names can cause such confusion. Even for my business, we thought we had a fairly unique name.... until we found out...

Older Dave Clark Estuary - Paint Removal Help

That looks like canvasbacks.biz I believe Dave Clarks site is http://www.canvasbacks.net/ which looks to be up and running fine. BTW. the link to that guy Dan's (who owns Canvasbacks sail loft) trip blog website shows the 'great loop' he is doing with his wife.... it looks like a really cool...

    eider hen

I can't say these necessarily qualify as "Good". On the off chance they are helpful, here are some Hen Eider pics I took a while back that might help depending on what you need. I'm not that skilled at posting pics, so I'm not sure how the size will come out in the post. If you think you'd...

    Decent day, didn't expect it

Yeah, there were a surprising number of ducks flying Tuesday and not a lot of guys out. Of course the flip side of all this is, based on Tuesday I was excited to get out with high hopes this morning......... which resulted in the slow day when you expect a good day. [crazy]

Yet Another Look at Cooking Buffies

I haven't shot at a bufflehead in a while, but when they have made their way into my bag I never had a problem eating them. Here they are in lettuce cups. Just look up the recipe for "shaking beef" and replace the beef with bufflehead.

Canada triggers pause on Migratory Bird Regs in US

My understanding is it is two fold why it was negligible 1) Wind Power only accounts for 21%-23% of power generation in TX 2) The wind farms didn't go completely off-line, they only lost about 50% of output ERCOT says that their plan for extreme winter events expects wind energy to only...

Canada triggers pause on Migratory Bird Regs in US

Unfortunately we are between a bird killing energy rock and a hard place. USFW estimates that 140k-500k birds are killed a year by wind turbines in a year, they also estimate that 500k-1M birds are killed a year in oil pits and evaporation ponds. Both numbers are thought to be understated...

    New boat and trailer journey

I've done this twice in the past few years, most recently in July towing boat/trailer from PA back to NJ. I feel your pain and for something that happens all the time, you'd think the DMV/MVCs would specifically address the trailer issue more clearly... but I think they consider a trailer a...

Anyone using a new Duck Invader 13?

The ?hinge? of the flappers has a removable pin that is secured by a cotter pin. Basically just pull the pin and the boards come off. Although, I purchased some wire lock pins to use instead, as I prefer them to dealing with cotter pins which I would be sure to drop and lose.
