    Tool bag?

Sounds like there are some good ideas for bags already. I like to keep my gouges / chisels protected with a length of clear pvc tubing for transport.

2024 Barnegat Bay Decoy and Gunning Show

Hi Steve, yes Saturday was cancelled last year due to high winds. I'm fortunate to just have a 45 minute drive to Tuckerton. Hoping to have some table help this year and walk around a bit more. See you there!

    Decoy rack? On sneak boat.

Mine are cedar - just painted with same paint as sneakbox. I may have sealed them, but I don't remember. White cedar is rot resistant so long as it doesn't stay wet for an extended time. My motor board is treated lumber with multiple coats of resin and attached with 4 bolts. The key is for...

    Decoy rack? On sneak boat.

Hi Eric, personally I stow the boards inside the sneakbox for transport to the ramp. There definitely is a bit of thought needed plus some trial and error to get sufficient tension. I revised the one photo to outline the various connection points. What I was taught was to use two eye hooks...

    Decoy rack? On sneak boat.

    Model duck boat makers

The top one looks like a Fred Reitmeyer (my Dad) to me. The first ones he taught me were a solid hull like that appears to be. Are there two runners and a skeg on the bottom? Bottom model is sharp too!

    Model duck boat makers

Many years ago my Dad taught me decoy making. Along the way I also started making mode sneakboxes and garveys. The sneakboxes I pattern from my boats built by Carl Adams, my Great Grandfather, the garveys off of photos / dimensions I'm provided with.
