    Boat blind height

After playing with flapper boards and flip ups I finally landed on conduit pull up set to the height of my chin based on the chairs used in the DH (I am also to old to effectively shoot from sitting or laying down anymore). From that point I found some "Tiki Bar" thatch that runs from there up...

Proud New Boat Owner, Lower Columbia River

I live outside of LaCenter and I have a house on Willapa Bay. For some reason I enjoy hunting in the mud and dealing with tides, it is an affliction I guess??:) I do like stories from those on this board about sitting in a nice blind over a serene water, which I never get to experience. At...

Proud New Boat Owner, Lower Columbia River

Welcome to the Columbia River boat club neighbor! I have spent my whole life hunting the Lower Columbia from many crafts and looks like you got a good one. Here is my 1.5 cents in order of importance: Invest in good life jackets, find a tide app and learn it, get a good gps (I use a handheld...

Ordering an outboard drop shipped to house

I did get a call and a follow up quote. It a appears I would be saving around $500 having it drop shipped to a local terminal for pick up (full warranty prep provided) verses a local dealer. That is a case of Bismuth with the new tariffs ;)

I haven't heard back? I filled out a quote request and left a message?

Ordering an outboard drop shipped to house

I know, I have got the same message from dealers when buying a car. If you don't buy it from me, you will go last in line for warranty work. I have never had this come to fruition since most dealerships love warranty work payments. All good boat shops are swamped during the boating season...

Ordering an outboard drop shipped to house

That is 2k less than the local shops! I sent him a message; lets see about shipping or warranty stuff if it is worth the work. Thanks!

    New Ram weight loss....

You may be on to something. I cant seem to go anywhere in my 96 powerstroke without someone trying to buy it out from under me. Funny, the year I bought it I got a $2500 tax credit for buying a diesel over a gas because the Government thought it was cleaner back then???

Ordering an outboard drop shipped to house

I think I will keep trying to find a late model used one. I just didnt want some goober drilling holes in my boat and wiring it after a long night out on the town.

Ordering an outboard drop shipped to house

Does anyone have a recommendation of an online outboard motor purveyor who would drop ship one to my house in the NW. I am looking for a new Japanese brand 50-60 and can hang and mount it myself. Seems to be a wide margin of pricing on the interweb and who knows if some are legit????

    Safety on the water.

Let me preface this by saying, I worked on a Fire Boat for many years and had private business teaching boat operations for decades. I am very familiar with water emergencies. Last season one of my partners had a very close call while taking a dive out of my boat. He was not familiar with the...

    Setting up a sneakbox

I am torn on the UHMW application standing on the auspice of getting away from the lineage of the boat. But then again the epoxy, resins, LED lighting, etc. left that in the dust years ago. I love my wood boats for the history of platform and feel the more I modernize them the more my...

    Setting up a sneakbox

Here is the Dodger on my AA Broadbill. I can sit and see over it or stand and hold onto the top bow. I used thick wall stainless tubing on the bows and locking canvas snaps for stability. The "beaver hut" back has simple snaps if I want to row and I have a movable back support bar with an...

    Wooden Duck Boat Convention?

Hello I am somewhat new to this board. I have been lurking for years but I finally reached the proverbial "first step": Everyone, I have a duck boat problem! I just purchased my third wood marsh boat, not counting the aluminum fleet... Question: Is there a convention of some sorts for...
