    need help finding a pup

Sorry for your loss. When I had to put my yellow down a couple years ago I spent months looking for another dog. I ended up buying from Jason Craig at Dark Timber Kennels. He was great to deal with and honest. www.darktimberkennels.com

    German shorthair pointer

I agree with the cold weather comments, I had two that I used for upland hunting and the were awesome. They were decent retrievers, but not in the cold.

Hunting the storm in North Carolina

Had a great trip to North Carolina last week. The storm pushed a lot of new birds into the Pamlico Sound and just hanging out in the boat and watching the huge flocks made the trip worth it.

    Aftermarket power tilt

I have both tilt and a hydraulic jack plate on my boat. Neither is incredibly fast, however the jack plate raises the motor straight up which allows me to use it in shallow water.

    Puddlers in the diver rig

I have had puddle ducks come into diver rigs while open water hunting but they are few and far between. Two Day Trip to the Outer Banks (long read)

Great story, we hunt the Sound every year in Hyde County. They allow open water hunting and there are great public hunting areas along the shore that you can use if you buy the NC public lands stamp.
