    The Ghost Lab story

I believe the story is titled "All ghosts aren't white". It is also one of my favorites but I can't seem to find the story online.

    Was cleaning out my Photobucket...

Chuck, Thanks for the trip down memory lane with your pics. I enjoyed seeing that pic of Kyle again. He has too been busy with other things the last several years to be carving decoys with us old duffers.

Rescuing A Rail Skiff *Updated with text and pics*

Nice work Jode. It always interests me to see how similar boats are used for different purposes in varying regions. We use a boat that is lightweight and drafts very little water and is poled through heavy vegetation much like you do but our target is frogs. I always work the pole and leave the...

Skiff building series on the Youtube

Good morning Steve and thanks for the explanation. With your explanation and a google search I think I understand. I have enjoyed this series a lot and Lou explains some things very well but sometimes I struggle with some of the terminology but I can't blame him for my ignorance.

Skiff building series on the Youtube

The next episode is available. Not sure where he is heading with this bow hook since I'm not sure what purpose it serves but it will be fun to watch and see.

Skiff building series on the Youtube

Been enjoying this series very much. Can't wait for the next episode. I can't help but think that this would make a great television series and would beat most of the garbage "reality" shows that get air time now. I suppose the target audience would be small and only boat nuts like we have on...

Natural "camo" that isn't salt hay?

I saw a tip many years ago and i can't remember where i saw it but have used this method with good success. Start with a roll of snow fence like you see in construction zones as orange but they make a green color that is readily available. I spray painted it a tan color before weaving the grass...

Wow Carl, your season just ended and you are already noticing things like this. It's going to be a long off season for you :)

And then there was the kitchen table.....

Griffin, While i may agree with several of the observations already offered, i would like to offer a possible solution. I have used a solvent known as citrus solvent aka orange turpenes in the past to remove difficult stains or smudges without effecting the finish of the surface below. I once...

    Holding down the fort---

Al, What a great holiday you are having! My daughter and i always look forward to your puppy pics. I'm sure Bev will give you a break from the pups to go hunting. Please excuse my ignorance but is it coincidence that all the pups are chocolate in the one litter but the other litter has mixed...

Nice viewing for a Christmas morn

Jode, Great video and history. I always love seeing different ways the old timers did things. A lot can be learned from seeing that stuff. Thanks for posting.

The 8th Annual Rutgers Institute Decoy Float on Aug. 14, 2015!

Hey Dave, I thought it would be neat and add a little twist to the float this year if everyone would bring a decoy they carved very early in their carving career so we could see where they started and where they are now. Just a thought.

    Teens and Jobs and Money...

Eric, I applaud what you are doing for the lad. You are teaching him valuable things that someday he will appreciate. I went through a very similar journey with my son Kyle a few years back. He started working at a local farm picking corn and beans for their vegetable stand and then worked at a...

June - What's on your Workbench?

    Order Your duckboats.net T-Shirt

In looking at my package tracking information I see that the label was created on March 27th and there was no movement until April 10th when it shows it was picked up and taken to the sorting facility in Owens Cross Alabama. I don't know if I got in on the first batch or not but it looks like...

Pat, Thank you for posting all the great pics and for all you do. This show is definitely on my list but unfortunately I've been busy with other things this year so I have been unable to attend any shows. Sounds like you had a great turnout with quality people to share the weekend with and...
