Great Lakes Decoy Show pics #1...

Lots of pics so am breaking them up into two posts. Great show and great to see everyone from the forum! So awesome to put a name with a face. Nice to spend time with George Strunk, Sean Sutton and long time collectors Tim Sieger and Dick LaFountain. Also a treat to spend time with Pat Costello, former punter at the Winous Point Club. Great times and great history.

If you've never attended this show, I'd highly encourage it in the future. The Club runs a first class show. Here are some of the vintage pics. Great decoys depicting our decoy carving heritage...

Pat,
Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge of decoy making with my brother and I. It was a pleasure to meet you, and gave us some renewed inspiration in our own carving. This is the first time at the show since the split and we really enjoyed ourselves, and the people we met.
Those Jim Schmiedlin decoys are something else to see, and I always leave shaking my head wondering how he did that.

Thank you again Pat for everything!

Same here Sean! Great to get to know our decoy carving brothers from New Jersey. You guys do outstanding work and have a great decoy carving and waterfowling heritage. You have much to be proud of.
Keep up the good work! Pat

Tony - Great to meet and spend time with the Kirbys. You guys do great work and, you have lots to be proud of. Nothing sweeter at a decoy show than sharing time with fellow decoy carvers exchanging ideas.
Keep up the good work! Your decoys would grace any river, lake or stream... Pat

Pat,
Thank you for posting all the great pics and for all you do. This show is definitely on my list but unfortunately I've been busy with other things this year so I have been unable to attend any shows. Sounds like you had a great turnout with quality people to share the weekend with and that is a win in my book. Nicely done brother!

The Westlake show is a great show, I have been going for many years, it is better for me than Pheasant Run, Much more Michigan stuff

Thanks Jim! And, your exhibit of Nate Quillen artifacts was superb! I appreciate all you do to preserve and share this important history to the great state of Michigan. Without people like you, this history would be lost. You have truly done Mr. Quillen's legacy proud... Thank you sir! Pat
