    Anthony, great look back into the heritage of gunning on long island. Hope it will be preserved and documented in a museum. So much gets lost and thrown away. I have a marsh box that was said to be made at the old Tupper Boat House in Southampton, was made for the Frankenbach rig in southampton.

    Steve, poured slugs like pic #6 but horizontal with stainless nail through my hole. Like the hidden weight you did.

    I strip them of wood etc and soak them in kerosene. I use small lead or plastic heads, tap around andput back in the kero. Took 6 months to free a screw in choke. no damage.

    Don't think it is ment for open water use. I think it is used on land, marsh to sit in. I have seen them towed behind a skiff to a shooting spot.

    Check which way the reed bends easiest. Place that way up, mark call with pencil for reed reference.

    A few of the local guides use a ice eater and a honda generater for their shore blinds. I have a spot on a channel that stays open, but hard to launch.

    Afriend gave me a piece of osage to carve him a duck. I hit it with the foredom a few times and placed it on the wood shelf to rest for a while.

    I like a hand held plugged in to 12v. Never had luck with portable handheld. All my running lights are hard wired.

    duck boat trailer bunk carpet for a wooden boat...

    I use cabela guide ons to center the boat. Also the siginal lights are out of the water and license plate, haven't had to replace any lights in years.West puts out bunk slick, just buy silicone spray, it is really slick, I tie the stern down when trailering.
