I've had many evinrudes over the years. All new to me motors. Always used 50-1 mix on all. Story, a friend found a 18hp that wouldn't run well, new 100-1 mix. He and the original owner put in a 25-1 mix of oil. Just a little math problem, now that it's all straight the motor is still running,

When you bring child hunting, make sure they are warm. Bring them in the pm, favorite book or electronics so if they get bored they can keep busy. Be ready to leave if they get cranky. This is supposed to be fun. Handeling guns depends on child and parent, some I wouldn't agree with. SAFETY...

Kevin, you not be mounting the gun well while sitting. Take your cell and do a video of yourself shooting. Also try a slip on pad. The pitch could also be a problem, pitch spacer in the slip on will work. Happy hunting...

I gunned small tidal marshes with my southbay. I would use 5-6 mallard/blackducks, maybe 1-2 geese [if there were flocks around]. Match the hatch, if you see 4-5 birds in the area, copy them. Only used bigger rigs on open bays.

Use really small drill bits, drill around the shaft to releive stress. Use vise gripes to help.

Check out 3M, I think they have a self leveling silicone. Aerospace industry uses it.

Safety in a boat is the first thing. Would not buy a boat if I wouldn't trust it. Wife wants you safe, she needs a babysitter... Hang out at decoy shows, DU events and talk to guys and wjat they use. All boats have limitations, Some days I just won't launch it, I'll go to a safer spot...

Anthony, great look back into the heritage of gunning on long island. Hope it will be preserved and documented in a museum. So much gets lost and thrown away. I have a marsh box that was said to be made at the old Tupper Boat House in Southampton, was made for the Frankenbach rig in southampton.

Steve, poured slugs like pic #6 but horizontal with stainless nail through my hole. Like the hidden weight you did.

I strip them of wood etc and soak them in kerosene. I use small lead or plastic heads, tap around andput back in the kero. Took 6 months to free a screw in choke. no damage.

Guns are not made for using hammers .

Glass eyes seem to put the decoy over the top.

The vents on the fromt, won't they pick up exhaust fumes?
