I find the fact that approximately 14% of the federal budget goes to paying just the interest on our growing National Debt particularly frightening. ~$7,000 per person per year. More than spending on national defense or Medicare. Not paying any of the principal, just the interest.

I cant imagine being a tax preparation accountant, given the complexity and ever-changing nature of our tax code, how in the world do y'all keep up??? We've turned what should be a simple calculation (X% time income = taxes) into a nightmare.
