Cayenne is proving to be one great mother considering that this is her first litter. All ten of her pups are growing like weeds. What has impressed us so much is her ability to keep the birthing area immaculate. Each of the pups is washed on a regular basis and always seem to be looking good. All this makes us lucky.

Al, that plastic pool you are using for a whelping box can do double duty as a swimming pool for the pups in a few weeks. We have the same one and the past three litters of pups loved to splash around in it. Rich

Hi Al
They are all looking great, the pups look like they are eating well too.

Hi Doug,
We lucked out again when it came to having a young female that is now turning out to be a great mother. Cayenne is of the "pampering" type. The pups are very well fed, as you said.

Rich, you are so right about a great splash pool. We found that out 2 years ago when the temps got up to 104F. One day we found some of the pups with their bodies draped in the large drinking dish we had just trying to cool down. So we decided to bring in the pond. Worked like a charm.

That's some good stuff right there Al!

Greg----well said. We think so, too. However, I already know by the looks on Bev's face that it will be a very difficult time for her when that last pup leaves. We spend hours upon hours holding those little tykes.
