1088 vs 6566 Meranti?

Hey guys, I've been looking at ordering some new marine ply for some projects coming up this spring. I don't have a huge budget at the moment so I'm looking to save a bit of money on materials-I noticed that 6566 grade meranti is about half the price of 1088. According to the website the core is the same, but the finish sides of the 6566 aren't as high of a grade as 1088. I'm mainly concerned with core integrity as the finish sides will be glassed and epoxied. Do you guys have any advice? All my other boats have been built with BS1088 Okoume and it's really nice but expensive. Thanks!

Meranti BS6566 is about 4 lbs. more than Okoume BS1088 per 4' x 8' sheet ( 6mm (1/4")). The BS6566 would be good to use for stitch & glue. You can go to the following web and check the weight of plywoods you may want to use.

Cody, I am also looking at ordering a sheet for a project. Just curious, Are you ordering online or locally?

Thanks guys. I haven't had much luck getting true marine ply locally so I will have to probably order online, which isn't great because the shipping runs around $250 or so. Might as well order as much as I can in one go to save on shipping. I got the ply for my first 2 boats from Noah's, they have had the best prices that I've found.
