here is my current project i got the entire out side of the hull sanded down. just starting on the inside and should be ready for paint in the next week or so then ill just be waiting on warm weather. just had a few miner repairs i had to make a new transom board the one on there was rotten. and then it had a few spots where water froze inside the gunwale and it had minor cracks. i just filled them with quick steel and sanded them down smooth even with out paint its not notice able. I need to pick up some inserts for the oar locks and the middle seat has come untached at the floor, I will post pictures of it i was thinking just get it lined up drill a few holes and rivet it back on. if anyone has any suggestion on how to fix it that be great.

Pretty neat little boat. Amazing what you could buy from Sears back in the day. I have a couple of Sears Ted William special shotguns in my gun safe. Keep us posted on the progress.

i have yet to see anyone else with the same boat. the thing is solid and super stable i learned how to row in it when i was about 8 years old with my father i will never get rid of this boat.

Neat little boat.
Only advice I have is don't use pressure treated for the transom, the salts in it will eat the aluminum.

I agree with Carl on not using PT for anything. YOu can go to tinboats.com for ideas and to see what others have done to modify their boats

i cut it out of 3/4 ply and figured i would just seal it that is what was on the boat and it lasted for a while ill take a few pictures of the setup that was on the boat i just coppied. i figured on putting some of the marine glue behing it to help seal it and keep water from getting behind the board

haha thats my jury for when i am having trouble comming to a decision on a project. damn full bodies take up to much space i had to get creative on where to store decoys and still be able to have my garage.

I have the exact same boat. Well technically my dad has the exact same boat. Been wanting to get something a little bigger and more open, but it has served us well over the years.

Mike; I also have a sears Ted Williams 12 ga automatic shotgun in a-1 cond. Do know what the value of this gun is worth? It looks brand new with very nice wood stock & for end.

It's borderline out of control how fast it is. It will turn on a dime with the round chine and the little keels on the bottom. It will put a lot of weight on plane. The aluminum it's made out of is far superior then any jon boat you can buy new. I've broke ice with it, jumped beaver dams, and slid it down banks to get where I wanted to go.

I used to use it a lot to scout long stretches of river. The guy that had it before me had a 3hp on it I think.

I have some pictures of mine but I can't figure out how to resize them on the ipad to upload.

A close friend had one since the early seventies. We fished that boat in four seasons all over the place with a 9.9. We used to drag it across ice to find open water. He sold it to another friend who still uses it.

That would be a versatile little boat running it like Rob does swapping an outboard and mud motor as needed.

Here's a pic of mine with the stumpjumper. Great boat. I think mine is from the early 60s. I've had a blind on it but it was just heavy with it on there so I scrapped it.
