20 ga muzzleloader thoughts

Anybody had any experience with a Pedersoli 20 ga. muzzleloader? I do have and really enjoy my 10 ga. but am thinking about a smokepole grouse gun. I guess I just like to be a half step out of normal.

I have nothing very constructive to add, sorry. I shoot a 12ga original back action percussion and a couple 10 and 12 ga BP cartridge guns. I'm currently building a 28ga sxs percussion for myself and 20ga smoothbore rifle for my son. So at some point in the future maybe I'll have something slightly more constructive to add. I do understand your desire to be a half step (maybe more) out of normal! The Perdesoli does look to be a nice piece.

Can't speak on a 20 ga Pedersoli, but I do have a 12ga Pedersoli O/U - it is a quality gun, nice fit and finish and seems to be very well made.
I've used it for quail, pheasant, chukar, and duck... as well as a few spins around the trap and skeet fields.

since the question was on the Pedersolli - and i have no experience with them i did not reply

but for muzzleoaders in general -

i have upland hunted with a single barrel flintlock fowler

and i have originals both 14 and 15 ga- have not hunted with them yet- but hope to get the 15 out for ducks this year (pic attached)

the trick is going to be follow through - a good muzzleloader is not all that slow with ignition

but it is slower than the modern internal hammer breech loader - so- give it some lead and keep swinging
