3 Dogs Joe, here's a "beater" duck gun......

I'M GETTING TOO OLD TO WAIT FOR AS LONG AS IT WOULD TAKE TO GET THE PICS TO LOAD.tHE 2200 BID IS MORE THAN I AM WILLING TO PAY FOR SUCH A GUN,THEN BARREL AND STOCK WORK AND MAYBE ACTION.i HAVEN'T SEEN AN ELSSIE FOR A VERY LONG TIME.dO THEY HAVE A RIB EXTENTION OR FLUSH BARRELS?

Yes, this gun has the extended rib as seen in photo's, nice old L.C. Smith.

I don't know what happened to that rib above?

Heck of a chunk of wood heh?

Nice old L.C. Smith "Specialty Grade". Would make a great goose gun with those 30" F&F barrels. This is why Bismouth ammo is still around. I can see this gun going off for $4K or more. These L.C.'s in this condition are like hen's teeth.

DAVE,I finnaly got to see the Elsie SxS 12ga you posted some time ago.Now that's a beautiful gun.
STRANGE THAT IT WAS ORDERED WITHOUT A SAFETY.Makes one think it was used for trap or pigeons,
but the drop at heel is too much, comb is OK,however.Toooo nice to bounce around in a duck boat.

Got to shoot an old Trap grade with the single trigger. 32 inch barrels and a splinter forend. Now that would have made a duck gun. Doubled more often than any one would like. I have read that the tension on the tang screw is critical to the operation of the single trigger.

yeah, the hunter one trigger is problematic and good luck finding someone to work on it successfully.

BTW that gun on AA was dicussed at length on the Smith forum, I beleive the consenous was that it has been completely redone and probably new wood. buyer beware! gun went a bit high for being redone.
