Been a year ago today we lost dad, and I was introduced to all of you.

Much love and pain is felt today as everyday, miss him bunches and tons...

Thanks to all of you who keep his spirit alive with stories and pictures!

Bridget and Blake

Bridget and Blake,
Hank Garvey will tell you about a phone call I made to him about two weeks after this day last year.
I got a letter in my mail box marked return to sender from the hospital where we had sent a get well card to your dad from the kids and I.
I can tell you in no uncertain terms I lost it when I saw that card and realized your dad never got it.

I know you have done a great job getting Blake involved in the hunting that was such a part of your dads life. He will treasure that for all his days.
We miss him here every day. I am so glad to have been able to participate in the traveling decoy this year.

God Speed good friend!

I have never missed someone so much I never met in person. We all miss him.

That really says how a lot of us here at the DHBP feel. We sure do miss him.

I never knew him as I did not find this site until the fall of 2009, from what the other members have said he must have been the best...

Sorry for your loss

Matt

Bridget - I was thinking exactly what Pete posted when I looked at your note. Your loss was our loss.

Your dad made me...made us ALL... laugh and I truly enjoyed the time I was able to spend in person with him and here in posts exchanged back and forth.

When I told him my news last January it was HIM supporting ME as much as I was able to support him with friendship. He was a very large spirit, and a very nice guy...and I think of him every time I look in here.

I was thinking over the weekend as I caught up on some of the threads here and wondered to myself...

"What would Harker say about this or that?"

Our best, always, to you and your family

I never met your dad Bridget, but he called me one evening to ask me for an address. He could have just emailed me, but he called. I'm not sure how he got my number. The conversation went like I was talking to someone I knew my whole life.

Never got the honor of meeting your father in person.

Any time I asked for help or had a question about something he was always there to answer.

He is missed

B,

Your Dad made me feel welcome. One day after making a post with the subject: Perrine Boat Works and the rest of the post was blank, Lee's reply was "easy for you to say".

He really had the gift to help us laugh at ourselves.

My best to you and Blake.

I never met him except on here and I miss his no nonsense logic and sense of humor. Every time I see someone mention one of the big box "lumber yards" I smile a little thinking of what his comment would have been.
