Hopefully, Chili and Pepper will be doing this!

Chili was eyeballing the other teal I had dropped in the weeds.

One of the identifiers of a female black-chinned hummingbird would be the outside three tailfeathers. On each side the tips are white and easy to see.

This is a juvenile male Rufous. They are just as feisty as the adults.

I call this female the "Pollinator"!

This little gal is just 2 1/2 inches long. She's an adult female Calliope which is North America's smallest bird.

Great pics as per your normal Al. I love the water lily, is it in your yard lake? It's hard for me to imagine a bird no bigger than my thumb as feisty, but I suppose feisty is as feisty does LOL. Keep up the good job & fowling time will be here before ya know it!

Thanks, Dennis, for the kind words. I built two ponds for my wife. One is elevated that flows into a much larger one which is 16 feet long by about 5 feet wide. It is in that pond that Beverly planted these lilies. We sit out there every morning sipping coffee and watching the world wake up. With four labs and two house dogs meandering about, it happens to be fun!

This is Salsa in the primrose patch which is next to the pond.

Al,

Those are magnificent photos. My wife and I are interested in taking nature photos. We have been comparing the different camera bodys and lenses. What are you using?

I sure do appreciate the kind words, Shermie. Now for a trade off. I would love to see some duck hunting pics this fall from Nova Scotia. You live in one gorgeous hunk of North America, also. I love that Maritime Province.
