60hp Evinrude & 1860 Speed

I have a Lowe Roughneck 1860 with a rebuilt 60hp Evinrude. According to my boat mechanic that rebuilt the motor he thinks its closer to a 70hp with the way its bored. I run about 28-30 mph at 4700rpm weather its lightly or heavily loaded. Not quite maximum throttle but close to it. I hate running up the rpm's any more than that to prevent excess wear and tear on the motor. The motor has been a good reliable motor that I've had for around 5 years now. What kind of speeds do you think I should be getting out of my motor and boat combo? I know the prop pitch plays a part. Not sure what the prop pitch is on my stainless steel prop off the top of my head. Any recommendations on how I can get a few more mph's?

I’ve got 50 Suzuki on a 1960 Roughneck. With original prop I run 28-29 duck hunting rigged light or for fishing. I bought a second slightly flatter/smaller factory prop that I used when layout hunting hauling an MLB stretched classic and 8 to 10 dozen corks on long lines. I ran 23-25 that way. I also don’t run wide open throttle even on flat water. Motor red lines at 6500 and I run 6000 max. The boat had a 50 Yamaha when bought it and it ran similar for that owner except that the Yam had carbs and was difficult to start in the winter so I went to the 2003 Suzuki 50 and never looked back.

Sounds like I'm in the same ballpark on speed. My friend had a 75hp Merc 2 stroke on a 1860 Alumicraft and it would run 42mph empty or loaded. I was hoping I might get closer to that with my rig.
