Anytime after 4pm until we run out of fire wood.

On Gun Lake in Wayland, MI
PM me for specific directions if you lost your map.

Here's the skinny, we are floating our decoys or decoys that we are proud to own. I'll be grilling BBQ chicken and will have coolers of ice and pop. BYOB and a dish to pass. This is just a fun time of year to sit back and have a few laughs while we wait for hunting season.

Also, for any out-of-towners, there is a great hotel on the south end of the lake called Bay Point Inn. I'd be happy to pick you up in my pontoon boat if you'd like.

If you have any questions, just post'em up here.

Hope to see you all in August!

I'd like to come. Trouble is, I'm leaving bright and early on the 15th for Lake of the Woods in Canada. Can you get me back to Milford Iowa by 5:00am Saturday?

Tell Paully I said Hi, you guys have a good time and post some follow-up photos.

Dave, I won't be making it this year.

To all others, you are free and clear to RSVP (read above...I won't be making it this year)

Did the float happen? Got pics? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it this year so I was kind of counting on some photos.

Here's a good one. The decoys were even hunted over at the float as you can see. The unpainted teal are Dave's, The painted ones in the foreground are all Jeff's I believe with the exception of the the shoveler, which is Brian F.'s In the water I see some of Cole's, including an open mouth mallard. The big redhead hen is by Mr. Rutgers himself. I also see three of my ringers as well as many others' fine work. It was a great time as usual and good to see most all the usual suspects along with some new folks.

Sorry guys, I was just so busy this weekend that this is the first time I had a chance to sit down. Now I have to address that angry note on FB....

"Try riding a bicycle 100 miles in one day!" That's my cousin I'm holding onto since my legs were shot. It was a, "Peach of a Ride."

Onto the decoy float! A perfect day as temps peaked in the low 80s with lots of sun and decoys. Here's a nice rig of ringers by Andrew. They'll be in Canada real soon for the opener.

We had a nice showing of people since Chuck had to go on vacation and left us alone;) Paul and the family, Dave B, Cole, Andrew, Jeff B, Brian G, and Brian F and Garett all made the trip to Gun Lake. We were able to put 51 beautiful decoys in the water that day.

We truly did miss Chuck and Rich H since they always have great decoys to add. Maybe next year the weekend will work for everyone....hey, there's always hope.

Keep carving!
