Some people will tell Thresher is better than Mako. I find it chewier but it still tastes great on the grill. We've been on a roll this year 5 Makos and a Thresher

Congrats on that great thresher! I was a mate out of Ocean City Md for 4 years while I was in college and 95% of my trips (90+ a year) were for sharks. Threshers are one of the coolest sharks out there as well as a great fighter and one of the best eating. I can't tell a difference between mako and thresher on a plate. Once they get to 300 lbs + they all get a little chewy and lose their flavor. 100 to 250 lbs are the absolute best size for both makos and threshers for eating.

Nice shark Jack. We get alot of threshers just off the Jersey coast, often within a mile or two. I have watched them "thresh" bunker schools before, it is quite a sight.

They are the best shark to catch, they pull the hardest, bur their jump isn't very gracful. Sort of like somebody dropping a piano in the water. This was the biggest ever caught on the Windy. It would be neat if Russel would write a book about me, he live about 2 blocks away.

hey Jack, nice fish. Maybe Monster Man part II. Going sharking Saturday. It will be my son's first trip. Hopefully theres still a few left in Jersey.

That looks to be the perfect diversion when you can't be shooting ducks. Nice fish.
AlFor me its not a diversion, it's what I do. I cn't wait to start taking people out killing Geese and Ducks. its a lot easier for me . All I have to do is say "There's a goose . Shoot it" If they miss they can't blame me. When t a big fish gets away I'm always to blame.
