A few new photos-dog doing work + a visit from the king

Cody,
That pup, Sage, sure had a workout with all that ice. Congratulations on getting that first ever bull can. It is ok to beam from ear to ear! By the way that first batch of ducks that you sent down here are now listening to mariachi music in Chihuahua, Mexico. If you have any extras we'll gladly accept them.

Great looking dog and outstanding Canvasback.

Nothing like smashing your balls against the ice on the marge of the water to make a guy feel alive!

COLD!
Stay warm.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Al-be on the lookout for some mallards and wigeon soon, shot several earlier in the week and yesterday I didn't see a one. Did manage to scratch down a pintail to go with the can though. I'm excited to see if canvasbacks live up to their reputation on the table, after a week or so of aging I'll find out! Todd-it was cold, on the boat ride back my waders froze in the standing-up position and I had to do the Frankenstein walk to get the truck. Can't beat the late season though, ice+a few open water holes equals some of the year's best hunting. I think Sage is by far happiest this time of year, his ritual after an icy water retrieve is to run around like a madman for a bit and then roll in the snow.
