A new used big water boat in the works...

Craigslist gets me into as much stuff as it helps me get rid of!

19.5 ft of high sided boat I snagged for cheap! Will need a floor and a few odds and ends, but this will be a better boat for my needs than my current one, I think. I'm betting I will like the deep v hull over the current planing hull in big seas...

More to come.

Have fun with that boat, Paul. It would get stuck in the sand down here. When you referred to "big seas" of course I'm thinking of the Pacific Ocean. Were you thinking of Lake Superior or Mille Lacs Lake?

Paul-

Good find. I have been on the prowl. Need to get rid of another boat to slide one of those in the back yard. I am looking for a 20-22'er as a layout tender and family fun boat in the summer.

Can to share anymore specs and details.

Glad someone here got it. I spotted that a few days ago. A little to soon and a little to far or I'd have grabbed it. That'll make you a hell of a big water boat!

Both, but mostly lake of the woods/lake pepin. Mille lacs as well .

It's an 1983 spectrum, more info to come. Will get some more pics if I'm ever home from work when the sun is up.

I'll say - if you were looking in montrose mn you really are looking! I managed to turn it into a date by taking the wife out to a fancy dinner on the way back from picking it up! Bonus points. We were hooking it up to the truck two hours after I saw it online.

Now I have to sell my 18 Lund to fund the recomission of the USS Katiedid. Does anybody have suggestions for floor material? Some sort of wood or mdo?

USS Katiedid, Wow, do you know how that works. Good catch, had my phone off when you sent pics. Does this one have a tank built in? Now you have a real tender for the floating turd :))

I know what works! That was the name of the Lund, it just never got painted on... I still need to go shopping at "toms used boat parts outlet" for a tank that I can now build around up front.

Paul, here is a really well thought out custom center console pod that is both functional, as well as a minimalist approach for your project boat.

A neat concept. If I did a console I think it would be a forward console.

The goal is to find/make a tiller.

Paul, I talked with a wooden boat restoring operation on what floor to put in my 19', and he said when he receives boats that sat on the bottom of a lake for restoration, and they have a tamarack wood floor, he just wipes of the scum and the floor is good to go, even when the rest of the boat needs replaced piece by piece.

I had some tamarack cut and milled 5 years ago, and it wears great. Hope this helps.

My dock cribbing are Tamarack and Hemlock. They are over 100 years old. The iron fastenings are gone and I had to refasten them but the logs are solid. My raised beds in my garden are tamarack as well,15 years no treatment and they still look great.
