A quietly productive day (photo heavy)

Our first day out this year... sunny day... slight breeze... ended up with 4 plus a coot the was cupped into the blocks... but more importantly.. Kodi did his job, even though I really have not worked with him on retrieving since last year. And a nice day for a photoshoot!

Nice photos Phil, in spite of Kodi "photo bombing " your pics. ;>);>)

I hunted around my local waters and there wasn't much flying. Not many hunters either.

Phil-

Some really nice photos there. That first one of Kodi on top of the TDB is awesome. The boat looks great grassed up like that. What are you using around the grassing rails

when you have the hard cover over the front portion of the cockpit, how are you sitting in the boat to hunt? On a chair? On the bottom? Do you stand to shoot or shoot sitting down?

That really takes a lot of the profile height from the boat which makes it look really good.

I epoxied on blocks at the cockpit opening, where another grassing rail is attached This allows for permanent grassing... I have 4 or 5 years on this grass... and needs to be redone...

I sit on a chair typically...and when I do, I stand to shoot. Someone times I kneel on the floor.. than then I typically shoot from my knees...

What a great looking area for setting up to go duck hunting. Wow! How could it be slow? Loved the pictures of Kodi. He is a great looking partner! Good luck and I hope that the Canadian ducks will be down for you soon.

He looks like he is all business in the boat. Great looking dog and beautiful scenery.

That's a fine looking brown dawg you got there! That looks like a fantastic hunting area-is this the pool that's famous for Canvasbacks?

Enjoyed your post but hope those Cans come in this weekend. My son and my wife, for my 89th birthday, gave me a guided hunt with Todd out of Ferryville this weekend. Your pictures of your dog & boat with the bluffs in Iowa in one as the background and the Wisconsin bluffs in another was pretty special.

I am sure there will be an ample number of cans on the pool 9 this weekend. They trickle in up to their peak, and last weekend there were quite a few divers on the pool so I think you'll have good luck!
And Happy Birthday!!!!
