I've owned a drone for sometime but never used it due to the complexity of flying it and the fear of losing it. Sold it a little while back and purchased a newer, much easier to operate one. Took it with me yesterday to get some shots after the hunt was done. Here is one. Looks a whole lot different from the air than it does at ground level. This particular location has really changed on the past 4-5 years or so. An upstream dam failed sending tons and tons of silt downstream basically choking off many of the old channels and bays. While it isn't the same as it was, if you can get back here it can be a good spot when everything else is frozen or as the weather turns. It is also kind of cool to see how your set up blends in with the surroundings and how the decoys look. The drone can also provide information as to how far out it is, how high and more. 40 yards out is a lot farther than I thought when you can add it the height and calculate total distance.
