Hi- I just purchased an 01 Alaskan that needs new paint. Where do I find the "olive green" paint and what Is the best technique? Simply sand off the loose paint and paint? Do I need to put down a special aluminum primer? Thanks for any help!

another thumbs up for FME. did my boat in the fall held up great all season,
even after many days breaking ice hardly a mark. great paint.

Sam,
I assume I hunted with your Dad in Dave's blind, had fun but hurricane south winds were tough. I guess he got a banded black later on.

Lou was very helpful in helping me this past summer give him a call I am sure he could help you out with all of you questions and concerns.. Good luck!.

Agree with Sulky, FME paint... Bought a gallon for my South Bay. I've used it on everything for the boat. Lou said to thin it out as a primer. I thought better and applied straight to try it out. Listen to what he says. I painted the boat as he said and it turned out excellent.
Been hunting for 50 yrs and used all the paints. Buy the best, one time. My nephew Chris turned me onto Lou's paints. Dry's quick too... Good decoy paints too...

Thanks , rich. I went to harbor freight and bought the HVLP automotive sprayer and thinned the paint. A few coats later, came out great. Lou will give you the instruction you need to do the job right the first time.

No, season closed a week ago. Tough going this year. Had to play it safe on these larger lakes with the small boat and skip a day or two when it was to windy. Goose season opens again next month, hoping to get out then...Chris said that it was tough on Monday down there.
