aluminum 3 man duckboat

worth every penny I like the fact that it will last a life time What is the cost of your 12 footer the bbsb style

the 12 footers go for $1800.00 for a basic boat. the larger boat has similar lines to bbsb but with a open cockpit roughly 11-6x48.

John,

Looks awesome! Aprox. what will she weight, what will be the overall beam and length, and what type of power will she need?

Thanks

this is just a guess, but im thinking she will weigh around 500 lbs. overall length will be 17-6 with a 5-7 beam. a 40 tiller would be perfect for it. i have to do some math work to figure out the max horsepower rating.

top decks tacked on

John,
The 3 man is coming along awesome that thing looks like a cross between a tank and a rocket ship can't wait to see more pics keep us posted

Looking good John. Will there be any foam in her and what is the depth of the cockpit, from the floor to the top deck?

Thanks

Your boat is coming along very nicely John! Are you using a spool gun or a push-pull gun to weld it?

Regards,

Todd

there will be foam in bow, under each gunnal, under the floor and the whole dog platform will be filled with foam(not shown yet). the sq. ft. ratio will meet or exceed coast guard requirements and the floor to top deck height is approx. 14" without the inside combing installed which will be about 3 inches above the deck. right now im using a spool gun on a millermatic 212. a push pull machine is on my wishlist!

motor bracket/ dog platform all tacked up.

John,

I think you need to rethink that design. With that bracket design you have basically built an extremely rockered hull and I think you are going to have huge problems with it. There are reasons that commercial flotation brackets sit slightly higher than the hull, so that the water can break clear at the edge of the hull and you can plane. I don't want to piss in your wheaties, but I really want to say something before you do all your welds.
