Brian:

I subscribe to American Waterfowler. Also to Wildfowl. I really have no preference, one over another. Tom Roster is the Shotshell/Ballistics editor for AW. His stuff seems to always interest me. I've read him for many years. He had a column recently on recoil that provoked some thought. I guess the older I get, the more technical I'm becoming.

The stories strike me as the same stuff you get in Wildfowl. There's been a few East Coast stories (my preference) in these opening issues of AW. I hope that continues. AW seems to have a pretty even spread between puddlers, divers and geese as far as the feature contents go.

I just like reading and looking at pictures about all things duck/goose hunting. So when I heard about AW, I took a shot. I haven't been disappointed.

I have all my old issues of Wildfowl (charter subscriber). When our Jersey summers get hot and humid, I retire to the back porch under the oak tree and re-read all the back issues. Something to pass the time until the birds come back in the fall.

Regards,
Dave

Better ask which one has the most pictures because everyone knows you can't read. HaHa! I have noticed Wildfowl not being as great either. Only good stuff lately has been Gary March stuff but you can see most of that here. I thought I read a while back that Wildfowl was getting a new editor that those in the biz were not very fond of. Anyway, thanks for the rabbit hunt with my son. He is still talking about it! We developed a hunter for life that day.

Its the other way around. The old editor of Waterfowl, Jay Stangis, is now running American Waterfowl. The one issue of AW I have bought and read through was similar to the old version of Waterfowl when Jay Stangis was editor.
