Ammo Availability and Prices....Ouch!

I wouldn't go that far. You'll just get stuck with ammo you can't use, at a price you won't recoup. When stuff like this kind of panic buying happens my favorite saying is "The sky is not falling..........................Today!"

Some people I have spoken with have said it might not be a bad idea to buy any type of ammo that you can get your hands on no matter what caliber. As in the future it could be used in trade for something you may need.

I wouldn't be surprised if the folks saying that--or maybe the folks who started saying it--stood to benefit from selling lots of ammo at inflated prices. Never underestimate the power of viral marketing.

I have a prediction...

Fear-mongering from either side of the political see-saw will be the downfall of our country.

I have nothing to gain or lose at this point from my comment. I do not own a business and am not selling anything. But living in NY.,thinking about preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. And of course predicting the future is not in the cards for me.

Chris, my comment was not directed at you, or at anyone in particular. I'm sorry if you took it that way.

I just think we are seeing a lot of ammo and AR sellers taking advantage of the market right now. I don't blame them, they are in business, and I'd probably do the same if I were in their shoes.

But I'm not buying the hype. Unless there is a run on Kent Fasteel #3's (which I have trouble finding anyway . . . .), I'm not going to be much affected. I'm pretty set for target loads for the limited amount of clays I shoot; my two boxes of 30 '06 ought to last me forever at the rate I deer hunt, and there's plenty of 22 LR on my shelf to deal with the odd woodchuck or red squirrel around the garden and attic.

But that's just me. I take the same sour attitude into the gun shop as I do when I walk onto a used car lot!

Jeff, zero offense taken. Take alot more than that to do so. Sometimes I don't fully explain myself or talk in short phrases. In my mind the only way to educate yourself is to ask questions and talk about topics. Everyone has an opinion and how they like to do things. As stated by many others that's what great about this forum. People share and agree to disagree. This site has been very helpful in helpin myself learn about all sorts of different topics related to duck hunting and other topics.
