An excellent hunt today-not quite DR

Hey guys, had a great canoe trip and pheasant hunt today that I thought I'd share. I was lucky enough to have my wife along with me and she was taking photos, I was going to write a long story but I think I'll try to let her photos do the talking. I'm not sure if there is a better feeling than floating lazily down the river with a limit of roosters in your vest and a beautiful girl in the canoe with you. All I have to say is that it was a wonderful day that I am beyond grateful for!

WOW!!! You are truly lucky to live and hunt in such a beautiful place. Makes me want to pack up and move. Congrats on a great hunt!

Am I ever happy that you let your wife's photos do the talking. I hope she will continue to go with you on a regular basis. This was outstanding, Cody.

Nope, not really sure how it could get much better than that! Other than a nice warm fire in the fireplace and an adult beverage of choice when you get back home.
Great pics, I love the snow. Did you see any ducks?

Wow, thanks for all the kind comments guys! We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful place. We did jump a few ducks off the river (didn't shoot them because I had some lead shot along for the pheasants). I usually don't shoot lead at upland birds but I really had a hankering to use my dad's old Ithaca 37 to hunt pheasants with and it has a fixed full choke, which I am reluctant to put steel through. We had a flock of about 50 mallards pass overhead, also we got to see a large flock of migrating sandhill cranes. That surprised me because they are usually all long gone by now. Thanks again everyone!
