Another Evinrude parts question

I have an Evinrude E40ECDE outboard adn need to get a wiring harness to connect it to a key switch, choke, etc.
It has a red plug internal to the motor housing.
I've seen harnesses advertised as fitting 'all' Evinrude motors from 1975-1995 (They have an 8 pin red plug as well). Is this the right cable for my motor?

Thanks in advance, and I'm sorry to pester y'all, but my parts catalog hasn't arrived yet.

Not sure Bill..need to get a part number ..look on Bombardiers website and find the parts diagram for your motor and see if they match. Or...get on iboats forum for Johnson Evinrude and ask there..they can tell you pretty quick.

I did find technical parts drawing of my motor in there but couldn't get it to work this time maybe you'll have better luck.
