Another season in the books

As postseason depression is setting in I figured I would share some memorable hunts from the season. Overall a strange year and seemed to strike out a lot more times than we were on the X. I had the privilege to spend a lot of days in the salt over the last couple months in which I feel I learned a lot from. And as cliche as it sounds I wouldn't trade the time spent with friends and family out there for the world. Anyways heres a couple of photos!

My first bluewings. Kind of a funny story had teal everywhere the week before, then this day was bluebird and no teal in sight. My friend walks around to the boat to go retrieve a decoy floating away. All of a sudden I see him drop down and say, "Bluwing teal! Bluewing teal!" Figured he was joking considering we didnt have a bird within 100 yards of the spread all morning. Sure enough the pair came rocking around the corner and I dropped both with one shot (good thing considering my gun never even ejected the shell!)

Thanksgiving morning I took my dad out for what I hoped to be a productive bufflehead shoot on the bayfront. He works like a dog so and rarely ever gets out so I just wanted to get him some shooting. After being bumped out of the first three spots that I wanted to set up in because someone else was there, I finally just set up in a random spot. Had bufflehead swarm the decoys and he did his fare share of missing! All of a sudden 15 birds ball up and drop in from outer space and my dad dropped one. As I motored up to it I was shocked to see a hen wood duck laying there. Who would have thought!

Heres my buddy Pat's first wigeon. Little background story to the day....pouring down rain, motor wont turn shortly after the pic was taken. 8 hours later we arrived back at the ramp after walking and paddling all day. Sure did suck but all I kept saying was "One day were gonna laugh at this! This will make a good story!"

Was able to get another friend of mine his first old squaw and it was a stud!

You had one great season, Colin. I sure enjoyed those pictures. Thank you. My favorite being the one of the longtails.
