Anyone recognize this boat

Can't answer your question, but I am curious about the "crutch". First time I've seen that, and I'm trying to imagine what it's for..

I thought the exact same thing. The swivel vise mount is perplexing too.

My thought that the "crutch" was for some sort of rudder, the vise mount is anybody's guess. The asking price is cheap enough it might be worth a drive to see it. I would like to see some bow and stern pictures, I'll probably contact the seller and see if they can shed some light on it.

I don't see a scull hole either so it's interesting or a possibility that it is a type of motion devise to push the boat along I have seen some pretty ingenuous ideas in my day. peddles and you name it to push these boats. I didn't see any provision for an oar either but it looks like there is something draped over the stern that may be hiding the hole. It's in Missouri, near St. Louis,

I don't know about the red paint either but given the location I would think an ice boat would be unlikely.

Looks like an ice boat to me. The gimbaled thingamajig is common to ice boats.

I think you guys are right, I googled ice boat and it looks like that’s exactly what it is, right down to the “crutch” .
