I bought this motor 2 years ago, took it to a local boat shop and asked them to go throught if for me, new impellor, rebuilt carb, fresh lower unit oil. Got it back and it ran so-so, figured I needed to "learn" the motor, so used it a few times through the Summer doing the shake down on the Sneakbox last Summer. Duck season comes and it runs OK, some days great, other days not so good. Seemed like new plugs each time would make it run OK again. So I give it to another Mech. They diagnose it as weak spark.
At this point, I have $1K into the motor already, and looking at the CDI unit too. So I talk the CFO at home into letting me get one if the leftover Yamaha 15hp motors, and she agrees....
So if you are so inclined, know you are looking at a new CDI for sure.....
I figure it should be worth around $400 or a similar value in trade.... don't know of anything I am looking for in a trade, so cash is probably more attractive to me... but you never know. I would like a Muzzleloader side by side that I can shoot.
It is FME#28 green, and I can throw in the fuel line and the tank fitting for OMC too. It was run in Salt water before I got it, but not in the past 2 years, been fresh water only. I'll entertain all offers...
