Backwater GX 200 silencer

I need someone to share their wisdom with me on Honda GX200 motor noise suppression mods for use on a Backwater SWOMP Lite longtail mudmotor. I do not trust the claims on the web for modification with silencers, using headers in front of the muffler, and putting a second stock muffler right behind the stock muffler. Is their any modification for noise suppression that works enough to be worth the effort ? Any constructive ideas for improving this motor for use in a mudmotor?s wet conditions , like a larger gas tank or improved air filter intake, will be welcomed as well.

Look up GX200 Go Kart Mods...Most of the mud motor mods come from this sector of motor modifications. Any of those sights will have everything from changing the cranks, exhaust, air intake, and fuel carb intake.
As for silencing or lowering the noise of the exhaust I can recommend using the muffler silencers used on an ATV. I believe they are called Quad Boss . I am only recalling an experience with a buddy who had a 35 HP mud motor when I lived in Louisiana about 10 years ago. He always took the high performance muffler off he had which was as loud as a Harley and mounted the Quad on during duck season. It was night and day. He did have to fabricate a flange mount from the engine and a bracket to hold it but it did silence it a lot. I have not spent a lot of years hunting around a mud motor so I do not know if it really changed the performance. I do know we got through some pretty nasty stuff that I would not walk through with no problems with his rig and it was pretty quiet.

When I was building mud motors out of weed whacked engines they were very loud and the exhaust always seemed to point back at me. On a whim I mage an exhaust pipe out of copper plumbing and ran an exhaust tube down the long shaft and underwater. Made a huge difference in noise. Don?t know if this will work for you but it did for me.
