Belgium/jap barrels

Ok I just found me a Jap barrel treaded for invector chokes, it's a 32 inch vent ribbed just like my Belgium barrel. My question is after net searching all day I can not find the difference in the two barrels other then one is fixed full and the jap barrel is treaded for a choke. Both are 32 inches long, both have vent ribs and both are stamped special steel. I can not find any documentation stating the jap barrel's like this are made to shoot steal other then they have a screw in choke that's safe for steel shot. Maybe someone here may know of where I can find this information? Lol before anybody says it I know dead horse lol.

Clinton,
I don't know of any modern barrels that are not steel safe. And, you know it's a modern barrel because it has screw in chokes. Being a Japanese barrel it is likely its chrome plated as well. IMHO I wouldn't hesitate to shoot steel based on the limited information you have shared. If in doubt call the manufacturer.

Hohhot I'm not afraid to shoot steel through either of my barrels. My gun is a Belgium mag and I just ordered me two barrels that are jap made one has screw chokes and is 32 inch and the other is fixed full 32 in. The fixed full will be going get re eased and treaded for invector plus chokes and have a custom made drake killer choke put in for turkey and snow geese. I just thought it was strange that I always here don't shoot steel shot through Belgium barrels cause the barrel steel can't handle it. But yet I can not find any company documenation online are by calling browning, that the jap barrels in question are indeed made of higher grade barrel steel. Infact I had the gunsmith I bought the barrels from give me the date of manufacturing and seriel numbers for both barrels I bought today, and ran them and verified their birth dates. But could not find any info stating what the grades of steel in the different barrels are? So I was hoping someone would know a way are source I haven't yet tried, where I might get that kind of information. Sorry long winded and kind of one sentenced trying to type on here and do paperwork.

Browning's stance is no steel shot, regardless of size, through Belgium barrels. It can be found on their website.

EDIT; Here you go...

1. WILL ACCEPT ALL CURRENT FACTORY STEEL SHOT LOADS:
All Browning shotguns with the *Standard* *Invector, Invector-Plus *or* DS *choke* *tube systems, However, we do not recommend the use of Invector full or extra full chokes with steel shot. They pattern too tightly, and sometimes result in a "blown" pattern.

2. WILL ACCEPT ALL CURRENT FACTORY STEEL SHOT LOADS EXCEPT THOSE WITH T - BBB SIZE SHOT:
The B-2000 and B-80 shotguns with conventional chokes (Non-Invector)

3. DO NO USE ANY STEEL SHOT LOADS:
The Belgian-made A-5, Superposed, Leige, and other Belgian Over/Under models, Double Automatic, American-made A-5 and all other models not listed in category 1 or 2. Note: Belgian Auto-5 barrels are interchangeable with the new Invector barrels which are made in Japan. With this new Invector barrel installed on the Belgian-made Auto-5 receiver, steel shot loads can be used. (Shown below, Begian Superposed Over and Under.)

Thanks bro. I had read all that over the years several times. I kind of have trouble explaining what I'm thinking sometimes I guess. I'm going to shoot steel shot through it anyway, that's just me I love to hunt with this gun. What I was trying to ask is if anybody would know where to find the stats on what grade of steel was used on the two different barrels, the Belgium and the Jap. Not that it matters much I just like to know things like that is all. Again Thanks for the info bro. And if I upset anyone with my questions my deepest apologys.
