big tiller

I don't understand why someone would want a 250hp tiller motor. At least it's hydraulic and it wont be a work out trying to control the motor.

Well there are 3 garveys on my canal that have 175 and 200hp tillers without running lights but I think they are setup to run from the man...LOL

It may be a bit over the top BUT the features make smaller (100 hp) tillers easier to run. I personally prefer a tiller but have never run a really big one. I changed my 75 to a tiller about 20 years ago and except for using the shorter arm (from a 65 not an 85) I have never regreted it. I should mention that most of my fishing is backtrolling for walleye, and the extra floor space is welcome by our two labs. I should add that IMHO this is really cool!!. I had a chat with another marine teacher a few years back and he could not understand why any motor over 25 horse would not be a remote motor and I could not understand why any motor under 100 would be. "No perfect setup"
