Black duck pic for M. Braun

Gene,
is that the famous Fox gun I see hiding in your picture?
If it is what are you shooting in it.
Very nice decoy, photo and Black Duck.

I for one would gladly go out for just one Bird.

Bob,
That's a Lefever Nitro Special double. It has 2 3/4" chambers and I use regular cheap 2 3/4" steel in it. It's not a high volume use gun and I stay away from the real hot loads. I'm not concerned about it for the limited use it gets.

I'm also happy with a one bird day, sometimes a no bird day :)

Chris,

I don't have the gun in front of me to verify by the serial # but I believe this gun is earlier than the NID but was produced by Ithaca , not the original Lefever Co. It is a very plain gun with roll stamping , not engraving on the receiver, but it is stamped with a duck! The stock is a bit short for me but works great with waders and a jacket on. It was my great grandfathers on my dad's side of the family. They were not big hunters but it's a nice family heirloom. These old guns deserve to keep living on... they were made to hunt!

Gene, very nice. let me tell you, that sleeper black duck is my favorite, so much that I have two. One for the shelf and one that I hunt.

I'm looking forward to watching you dust a few with it. I have one that I think is a NID. It has a lot of drop at the heel so it makes it really hard to shoot.
