A buddy and his daughter were down on the beaches of Fort Morgan this weekend bird watching, mainly for shorebirds.
They kept seeing "ducks" trading back & forth off the beach. She managed to get a few photos using a telephoto lens.
The ducks turned out to be redheads and black scoters. The redheads are not surprising but the scoters were.
Usually we have to have much colder weather for them to show up in numbers but they saw at least 2 good size flocks and got a great photo of a single hen.
I might have to start hunting the saltwater earlier than usual this year!
