Just got my Blackduck back. I chose a different pose but I like it.

Very nice. Who did the Taxidermy, where ya shoot it? Have to have a good story with it? I've shot abunch on the shore in salt marshes but my best is from good ole western pa.

Tim Schloss mounted it. I shot it in western pa 2009. I shot one the day before I got this one that was almost perfect as far as color goes (No green feathers in the head, no white on the speculum, very little mallard color). Then I shot this one the next day. It is a monster as far a size goes. Not the perfect color in the head but pretty good. The spec color is the deep purple that I wanted.

I would of guess he did it. He does some outstanding work. I have a couple birds I need to get to him. If he'll be at westlake this year maybe then. It's tough get the right bird. So may things make it to the wall and not the grill or grinder.

Beautiful bird and great taxidermy work. New on the East Coast so I am still working on shooting my first Black Duck.
 
Looking for black ducks? Come to south jersey they are everywhere in the salt marshes nice looking ducks
