Blast from the Past - some of you oldies will remember "FREE KIDS CALL RAFFLE"

Dave Shady Larsen

Well-known member
Way back in the day a few times a year on the DHBP we would run a free raffle for a duck call I made for kids 12 and under.
Well its been a LONG time so why not we do it again?

Rules - PLEASE READ THEM at least TWICE!

Must be 12 yeas of age or under (12 years and 364 days MAX)
Must be a kid (Id allow dogs but I better not)
Pick a number between 1-1000 (I have the winning number written on a paper here taped to the Computer)
Closest guess to the number without going over WINS the call.
If the kid is a grandkid thats ok also just make sure that kid gets this call it will have their name on it.
If 2 guess the same number the 1st person to make the post WINS!
Contest ends on Jan - 19th at 11:59pm

***If you post a pic of your kid or kids with a duck call or decoy or the huntin dog you can have 2 stabs at it!

Winner the only thing I ask is to teach that kid to use the call and care for it..... well and post a photo of the youngin with the call when its all over please. If someone out there has a nice lanyard they would want to donate for the call that would be GREAT!

Have fun folks
Dave

Dave,

I believe that, back in the day, my son Dennis was a winner of one of the original Kid's-call raffles . He's now a freshman in college. Feel old?

Dave, THANKS!! My grand daughter Brittany won one of your calls WAY-BACK-WHEN too!! It is sitting in my book case and every once-in-a-while I get it out and let her blow it.....she needs more practice, but know she will someday use it in a duck marsh!! She is 9 now....WOW, Time sure flies.

Again, Thanks from all the kids out there for your kind generosity.

Best, Duane G.

Thanks for putting this on. I never entered my kids way back when these contests used to come out as they were too young to appreciate what they were winning...not anymore though.

My oldest Taylor would like to guess 545
His little brother Joey will guess 711

Benjamin (pictured with Jessie... if he and she are both very very lucky, he might get to gun over in her dotage and his earliest days afield) will take 112 and 815, respectively...

Sydney is already a die hard. Didn't understand why we had to stop at two wood ducks this particular morning, nor why she couldn't go with Brutus to get the ducks. Five year old girls can't comprehend why they can't wade in 4 foot water when she is only 4 feet tall.

Guess: 413 & 817

BTW, Jay that swan picture is priceless.
