Browning Side by Side or CZ Bobwhite

Looking for a double gun and have a chance at a Browning Side by Side for a decent price, however, I am concerned with the lack of parts from what I have read. This will be a hunting gun and not looking to pussy foot around with it. Any thoughts or should I skip out and go down to CZ Bobwhite for a lot less and not worry about it.

Thanks

You think parts are going to be more readily available for a gun made in Turkey or where ever CZ's are made? I'd go with the Browning for the reputation alone.

I'd stay away from CZ. You get what you pay for. I have a Dehaan, which is basically a "fancied up" CZ. I wish I never wasted the $.

What parts are you worried about? The Browning always seemed well made. Most double repairs require a true gunsmith, not a parts replacer, although I will say I am not up on thr newest Turkish ones.

I shoot nothing but doubles, which range from 80 to 150 years old. The couple I had to have repairs made to were due to serious abuse, broken hammers and a damaged sear.

On the whole I would say few things are as reliable as a double barrel shotggun.

I have a BSS, early model made in Korea with Japanese parts and single non-selective trigger. No lightweight but very solid. Great duck gun but must matrix or bismuth shot.

I had two Huglu's (basic model of the DeHaan). First one didn't last a case of shells the replacement doubled on my first sporting clays round and was returned for full price refund. Unfortunately I believe the dealer had to eat it as he got no satisfaction from Huglu.

My first gun I bought with my Dad when I was 18..12ga Browning SxS..just turned 52 this year..
Gun still going strong after many cases shot thru it
Nuff said!!

simple choice for me having once owned a CZ for a short time. Two field failures in less than a year and it was gone.
